When is the last time you thought of something you were grateful for? Often times we get caught up in what isn’t exactly perfect in our lives and forget to be thankful for what is going right.
Since it’s so easy to fall into that pattern, I decided to start a series of posts about gratitude. In the TED Talk I recently watched, Shawn Anchor suggests that you think of 3 things you’re grateful for each day. I usually do this when I wake up in the morning, but I want to take it a step further and share my gratitude with you all every Sunday. I would love for you to join me and tell me what you’re grateful for in the comments as well!
Showing gratitude is one of the most effective ways to reduce anxiety, depression, anger, and many more negative or “below the line” emotions.
Here are three things I’m grateful for today:
1. Eating this watermelon, banana, and strawberry fruit salad. Watermelon is one of my favorite foods and I definitely take advantage of the summertime because it is in season. This was some of the best watermelon I’ve ever had.
2. Getting to walk to dinner from where I live and see this adorable wheelbarrow with succulents in front of our neighbors place. I want to replicate it! You don’t think they’d mind, do you? π
3. Seeing this rainbow out of the plane window. I’ve never seen one like it. So incredible!
What are you grateful for today? I would love to hear!

This is such a fantastic idea; absolutely LOVE it. it’s always important to stop and be grateful for the little things in life π
It definitely is π
I am one of those people who is seriously grateful for everything, every day. My home, my dog, the food I am eating (yay, fruit!), my friends, the weather, green trees, butterflies–you name it, I am in grateful prayers of thanks, all day, every day!!! π
That is the way to be! Thanks so much for sharing!
In grateful to be in the arms of someone I love and who loves me back this morning.

Great uplifting post and wonderful idea. I keep a gratitude journal so I’m well aware of how important gratitude is and how nourishing and healthy it is to mind, body soul. Right now? I’m grateful for this computer bought for me by my parents which keeps me in touch with like minded souls, I’m grateful for the fresh garden peas I’ve just shelled, given to us by a neighbour and still giving of their wonderful fresh scent, I’m grateful for wordpress…and so much more! Blessings, Harula xxxx
Wow you do have a lot to be grateful for! Thanks so much for sharing. xoxo π
Am grateful for not feeling any pressure left over from the stress of hectic week that just passed. Today was about solitude, and I totally enjoyed it.
That is a great feeling π
It is a rainy Sunday morning. We are “on vacation” at home. We are having a slow and mellow morning to kick back and do nothing. How relaxing~! On normal Sundays we get up earlier than weekdays to run off to church. So nice to take a full day off, for real~!
Mellow mornings are the best!
Excellent post, and obviously many agree, the writer’s idea of a gratitude journal is a very special idea.
Yes, love the idea of a gratitude journal as well!
Love this! The rainbow is lovely. π
I also do a gratitude activity each week…I call it “three things thursday.” It’s nice to take a moment to think about and appreciate all of the incredible things in life. π If you’re interested, you can check it out here:

I love it! Adorable dog too π
I love this idea! Β‘Gracias!
Reblogged this on My Life Experiences by Melissa.
3 things I’m grateful for? I’m grateful for my parents paying for me to go to Melbourne for 3 days this week! π I’m grateful for my boyfriend and how amazing and loved he makes me feel without even having to try and I’m grateful for the love and support I experience from my friends and family and how they’ll always be by my side π
I’ve always wanted to visit Melbourne. Sounds like so much fun!
There is always something to be thankful for. Last week I posted this thought for my Wednesday Fuel. I was thinking of making it a feature on my blog and now I check out yours and see it! You know what they say! Great minds think alike! π π
I guess today I’m thankful for giving my puppies a bath (it brings us closer and their happy shiny smiling faces when they are all dried up are priceless). I’m also thankful I could easily fix my mom’s phone (technology loves me today) and I’m thankful for catching up on my blog reads and getting my nails done! teehehe π
Sounds like a great day! Thanks for sharing π
Ah, that rainbow is just amazing, I would love to see one from a plane window, too! 3 things I am grateful for … having such an amazing family, that’s one thing I’ll always be grateful for. Second, having the opportunity to play the harp and do lots of music at university. Third, I think just being alive and healthy and able to do as much as life has to offer! π
I love this idea! More people need to focus on the positive things rather than the negative and this is a perfect start.
I’m grateful for our dogs, Becky and Maggie, who show unconditional love and can put a smile on my face.
I’ve been keeping a gratitude journal for 13 years! Every night before I go to sleep, I write down at least 5 things that made me grateful that day. Keeping a record of these moments is transformational. I can look back on a bad day and see how much I have.
I like this idea. A lot!! =)
Thanks so much!
When I post my gratitude, I’ll link it here ok?
Please do π
Thank you!!! I’m grateful for finding Gratitude Sundays π Also, I turned 44 this week and I am so very grateful for my wonderful friends and family – so very blessed to have them encourage, support and love me.
Wow happy birthday!
