About this Happiness Blog

Welcome to the Happsters, a blog about happiness. I believe that happiness comes when you focus on the 4 G’s: Gratitude, Growth, Giving & Gathering, so I focus a lot on these four elements of a happy life in my writing. I’m all about supporting others, appreciating everything I have, continuing to learn and grow, striving to help others, and coming together as a community.

I recently launched local Happsters Squads where women come together to form deep bonds, share good vibes and enjoy fun events together revolving around the 4 G’s of Happiness (Gratitude, Growth, Giving & Gathering). Apply for an invitation to a Happsters squad near you here.

My name is Kelli & I live in Cardiff By the Sea, CA. I recently completed the “Science of Happiness” 10 week course through UC Berkeley. I love learning about ways to make ourselves happier and thinking of new ways to spread happiness. I graduated from USC in 2010 and started the Happsters in January of 2013 when I saw volunteers from an organization called “Happier Boston” holding up happy signs for travelers at a train station and handing out oranges to anyone who wanted them. It occurred to me that the world would be a much better place if we put happiness at the forefront of our lives and went out of our way to spread happiness to other people who needed a boost. So I created a movement to do just that. I hope you’ll join me on this happiness journey! Questions or comments? Email me at happsters@gmail.com.

Happsters has been featured on BuzzFeedCosmopolitan Magazine, USA Today,  Self Magazine, MTVHuffington Post, The Wine & Spirits Podcast with Monica the Medium, Everyday Health and many more.

A few fun facts about me:

♥ Community is incredibly important to me, both online and offline, and is a big part of the reason that the Happsters has become such a meaningful part of my life. I’ve met the BEST people through this happiness movement and I am so grateful for all of you.

♥ I loooooove a good quote and think that a simple sentence has the potential to change how we view the world. I share quotes every day on my Instagram page.

♥ One of the activities that makes me happiest is taking sunset strolls around my little beach town. I go on these walks most days after work.

♥ Sandwiches are my favorite meal and I eat them every day – sometimes multiple times a day – and avocados are my literal jam (on everything).

♥ My favorite game is Tetris and my favorite sport is ping-pong.

♥ I took guitar lessons after college for 6 months and came out only learning half of Eric Clapton’s song “Tears in Heaven.”

♥ Kittens are an instant happiness boost for me and I look up pictures of random kittens daily.

♥ I like to think of myself as crafty, but my husband ends up finishing most of my projects.

P.S. I started the Happsters for fun and have a full-time job (at ClubConnect), so I try to get back to everyone as quickly as possible. Please be patient with me :). Sending you love!

I have become very interested in positive psychology and if you are interested in understanding happiness, here is a very good book about it: Authentic Happiness by Martin Seligman. He also have a website where you can take some test to discover how happy you are: http://www.authentichappiness.org... I am definitely a happster and will proudly where the badge of honour! Keep up the good work!

  5. Happiness is like hydraulic oil. One drop of it gets everywhere – but I guess only an engineer would know that. Thanks for following my blog by the way.

  7. hey there!

Thank you for following my blog a few mths ago! I just wanna share with you that I have recently changed host (nearly died along the way 🙂 ) and if you like, please come again to my blog and you can type in your email address as with the change in host from wordpress, new posts will not get delivered to your email address like the last time.

So if you like posts to get delivered to your email address like the past, you have to type in your email again. It only appears in your reader now, so if that works for you, then it is ok.

    thank you

  13. Thanks for following me Happsters! It’s nice to see someone spreading happiness. The idea that it was the “Happier Boston” signs that got you thinking touched me. Until a year and a half ago, I lived right outside of Boston and identify with it. A “Happier Boston” can have so many meanings, but I would love to see that sign in the form of “Happier World”. I think although we have different approaches we are both working toward the end, a happier tomorrow for all…

    Good Luck!

Until next time, Dream Big, Live Well and Be Safe!
