Hi guys! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve checked in. I’ve just been enjoying the long days, warm weather, family and friends. Here’s a look at what I’ve been up to:
Billy was an actor in the Environmental Research Advocates video (will post the link soon!). He got to surf and talk about his love for the waves.
If you haven’t heard of the Environmental Research Advocates, their goal is to bring worldwide recognition to noteworthy projects that will sustain the environment. Check ’em out!
Speaking of water…I went paddleboarding for my third time and loved it!
I got a chance to attend the Lorna Jane Del Mar Launch Party. I went to an event at their La Jolla location a few months back (read about it here) and had a blast. This time I went with London and Ashleigh with a store credit that was burning a hole in my pocket!
It was really fun to see their Active Living Room, where they offer free classes.
I ended up getting some crops and a cute sports bra. Success!

This weekend I had fun at a BBQ with lots of family, games, and food. 3 of my favorite things :).
What did you do over the long weekend? What are some of your favorite summertime activities? Let me know in the comments! I’ve missed you guys 🙂
Last weekend I was fortunate enough to go to the Wanderlust Festival in Squaw Valley, CA. For those of you who don’t know, Wanderlust’s purpose is to create community around mindful living – yoga, the arts, personal spirituality, environmentalism, organics and conscious consumerism. There are lots of fun activities and sessions going on throughout the festival that I thoroughly enjoyed so while I won’t go into every little detail, here are 5 happy things that I experienced at Wanderlust:
1. The KIND Wall
The snack company “KIND” had a wall of flowers and were handing them to people walking by. Their instructions were to pass on the flowers to other people at the event and “do the kind thing for your world”. They are definitely Happsters :).
2. The Amazing Sessions
Sessions ranged from Power Vinyasa Flow to the Four Phases of Meditation to Thai Massage + Chinese Medicine. I especially liked the self massage class that I took (life-changing!). Continue reading →
Do you have a farmers market close to you? I hope so! Farmers Markets are not only fun, they are also a great way to support your local farmers.
Here are 5 reasons to find a farmers market near you:
1) Get fresh & cheaper food from the farm
The fruits and vegetables that you buy are sold directly to you without any need for shipping or sitting in storage. In addition to being fresh, a study for the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont found that prices were lower for many conventionally produced grocery items at farmers markets than they were at supermarkets.
2) Ask for cooking tips from the people who know
Often times the farmers and artisans selling food at the farmers market are happy to teach you about how to best cook their food.
3) Spread happiness in your community
There are so many people shopping and hanging around that it’s easy to strike up a conversation or even hand out a happy note. Sometimes there is even musical entertainment like this “Smiling Accordion Sensation”.
